ABOUT SPACE DAY

Thanks Again Space Enthusiasts:

The Ben Davis High School Astronomy Club wants you to know it's because of YOU that this year's Space Day was such a success! With your donations and patronage, you provided an opportunity for students to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by participating in hands-on activities led by passionate and knowledgeable Ben Davis High School students.

Space Day activities included building mini-telescopes, making motor-less model rockets, and much more! There were also public speakers like Giselle Flores, Mikaylah Gross, and Hannah Roper who helped engage student interest and generate community connections. Donations raised during this event (via silent auction and concession sales) were used in the purchase and donation of STEM-related materials for MSD of Wayne Township Elementary Schools.

Our Mission

The Ben Davis High School Astronomy Club has the mission to spread information about astronomy, astrophysics and space travel.

Our History

The Ben Davis High School Astronomy Club is a student lead organization which allows the increase of scientific knowledge throughout Ben Davis through astronomy and astrophysics. Students get the opportunity to either grow or develop knowledge in areas such as rocketry, telescopes, dark matter/ energy, string theory, and the future of space exploration and space flight. Their meetings are usually comprised of brief lectures, hands on activities, or elements that allow younger students to learn the basics of each week's topic. The Ben Davis High School Astronomy Club promotes an increase in scientific knowledge in Ben Davis’ student body, in addition to scientific outreach, and just overall fun!
